Oxford River Cruises offers several cruises designed particularly with the needs of groups travel and school trip organisers in mind.

We offer the following suggested itinerary cruises for groups and school trips but bespoke itineraries can be arranged to suit your groups itinerary, interests and budget.

Our River Experience Trip offers a 1 hour introduction to the main highlights of the Thames in Oxford and can be extended to include passage through picturesque Iffley Lock. Our Alice in Wonderland Cruise views the city's sights before heading in to the countryside following the route taken by Alice and Lewis Carroll almost 150 years ago. Our Mad Hatters Tea Party cruise continues the Alice theme and includes indulgent on board catering.

Prices quoted apply to groups of 25 passengers or more. Smaller groups might like to consider one of our Public Cruises or Private Hire vessels.

School Trips

Oxford River Cruises hosts enjoyable, safe and informative schools trips throughout the year. We offer fun and interactive learning for children that is backed up by support and resources for teachers. We even provide free places for teachers.

Your class can explore both the Oxford city landscape and the beautiful countryside on the outskirts. Lessons can be drawn from the geography of the river and its interaction with the urban landscape. All our cruises pass a multitude of historical sites from the Middle Ages to the present day and English Literature students can learn from the river's close connections with children's authors including Lewis Carroll, C S Lewis, Grahame Green and Phillip Pullman.

We recommend that School Trips utilise the services of our experienced guide, Mark Davies. His lively onboard commentary will stimulate children's interest and more than justify the additional charge for his services.
